 Committee Updates (10.30.09):

  • Aggie Recruitment Committee is gearing up for S.E.A.L. Conference (Nov. 20-22).  The Whoopin' Weekend Conference is slated for February 19th-21st.

  • Alternative Spring Break expanded participant numbers on two of their trips in order to give more students the opportunity to participate.

  • The Big Event is hosting a fundraising gala on Friday, October 30th.

  • Building Young Leaders Together is in the final stages of preparation for their annual High School Leadership Conference (Nov. 13th-15th).

  • CARPOOL is in the process of reviewing committee member applications. Thanks to all who applied!

  • COSGA is accepting host applications, November 3-13.

  • Glibert Leadership Conference delegates have been selected! 32 Freshman will be attending this year's conference.

  • GUIDE wrapped up a fundraising/donation drive for the Starlight Children's Foundation. 

  • Fish Aides are currently serving on all SGA committees, and have established an internal Service committee to identify projects and opportunities across campus.

  • Thank you to everyone who made Replant Day (Oct. 17th) a success! Keep checking the website for exec staff applications for next year's team.

  • Parents' Weekend Committee is busy planning the Parents of the Year Weekend, scheduled for November 20-22.

  • Texas Aggies Making Changes is working on a program called Adopt-a-Flowerbed, which will allow student groups around campus to adopt and maintain a flowerbed on campus.

  • Traditions Council is working hard in preparation for Bonfire Remembrance.

Congratulations to Mallory Myers and the rest of The Big Event team! On Friday, October 16th, Myers received the Daily Point of Light Award from the Points of Light Institute in recognition of the committee's service. Hosted by President George H.W. Bush, The Big Event was commended for their efforts at the Presidential Forum on Service in a speech given by President Barack Obama.
