Inspiration AwardTexas A&M University established the Inspiration Award for Exceptional Secondary Education to honor a Texas high school teacher who made a significant impact on a Texas A&M graduate. Each graduate may nominate one high school teacher who challenged him/her to excel at the collegiate level and beyond. A committee is appointed by the Student Body President to review the nominees and make the selection. The teacher selected for the Texas A&M Inspiration Award for Exceptional Secondary Education receives a check in the amount of $2,000 and a certificate. The high school where the teacher taught the nominee receives a check in the amount of $1,000. Two recipients are honored at the May commencement, one at the August ceremonies, and one at the December commencement. Nominations are accepted from undergraduate and graduate students who are graduating at these ceremonies. The recipient of the award is recognized at the ceremony in which the nominating student is graduating. Past Recipients
