Goals

  • Bridge the gap between students by expanding the Aggie experience to all students
  • Serve as resource to TAMU organizations by connecting groups throughout campus and encouraging collaborative efforts.

Current Projects

  • Unity listserv - Medium to send valuable information to students across campus.
    • To be added to the Unity listserv, please send an email to unity@tamu.edu with "Add to listserv" as the subject.
    • To send an email out on the Unity listserv, please send an email to unity@tamu.edu with "Listserv - title of announcement" as the subject.
  • Resource list - Compilation of resources and expertise student organizations with to share with one another.
    • To include information from your organization in the Texas A&M Student Organization Resource List, please see the attached document.

  • Comprehensive calendar - Compilation of the student-initiated and student-oriented events at Texas A&M University.
    • To include your organization or department's event, please send an email to unity@tamu.edu with "Add to Calendar" as the subject. Please make sure to include the following information:
      • Event name
      • Event details - date, time, location
      • Event cost
      • Event contact - name, email, phone

  • Battalion articles - Highlight domestic and international students with their experiences both in College Station and a common foreign country.

Collaborative Programs

  • 2nd Annual International Aggie Football Symposium - The International Student Association, MSC Hospitality and Student Government are working together to teach 200 international students about Aggie football and related traditions. The students will attend a symposium on Monday, October 9th and the Texas A&M vs. Missouri football game on Saturday, October 14th with students from MSC Hospitality and Student Government.
  • G-camp - Currently working with various student organizations to determine the need for a welcome camp (like Fish Camp, I-Camp, Howdy Camp or T-Camp) for new graduate students. A trial G-Camp may take place in January 2007.

  • 5K Run Around The World - Beginning preparations under way for another fun run to take place in Spring 2007. All proceeds from this run provide scholarships for international students attending Texas A&M University.
