Howdy!

I am Amethyst Black, a Junior Communication major from Oakland, California. This year as Student Advocate, I will serve as a medium to achieve more diversity and inclusion on the campus of Texas A&M through implementing initiatives, not only within Student Government, but campus wide. The most effective way to accomplish this is to initiate agendas that coincide with Vision 20/20, while infusing diversity initiatives into other aspects of Texas A&M through insightful programming. This in turn, will facilitate effective communication on diversity issues throughout the entire Texas A&M campus.

Some upcoming events include:

  • Roundtable Discussion: Diversity at Texas A&M
    Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 7 p.m., MSC 205
  • Roundtable Discussion: Immigration Concerns
    Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 7 p.m., Rudder 707
  • Sixth Annual Diversity Symposium
    Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 7 p.m., Rudder Theatre
