Howdy Ags,

My name is Blaze Currie. I am an Agriculture Economics major from Wellman, Texas, but most importantly, I am the proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie class of 2008!

We as a student body have the unique opportunity of having a campus on the border of two cities. Bryan and College Station are two completely different communities linked by our university. By getting involved with each of these cities, we as students can help to build community.

Students here at Texas A&M University devote a large amount of time to community service. I encourage all students to get involved in a community service event during their time here. This campus is full of organizations that provide the opportunity to get involved and to serve others. Only service to others will allow us to build community.

I also want to encourage all students to vote in all elections. I am currently working on a voter movement called Aggie Vote. Through registration, information, and motivation, we can increase voter turnout by the thousands. We are the future of our nation, and we must vote in that way. Many students will attend this University for five or more years without ever voting in an election. We, as a student body, must let it be known that Aggies vote and vote often.

If you are interested in further developing our community or have any questions, then contact me at BlazeKCurrie@tamu.edu. You belong to our community, and our community belongs to you. Help make it better!

Thanks and Gig Em’
